Tigers Track And Field Senior Salute: Wade Wells

Over the next two weeks, University of Memphis men's and women's track and field/cross country are celebrating the program's 11 seniors with a salute to each.

Today's senior salute is Wade Wells:

Competed in the discus and shot put (outdoor) and weight throw and shot put (indoor) all four years
Participated in all eight American Athletic Conference Championships events (four indoor/four outdoor) in his career, including this weekend's league meet
At the 2015 conference outdoor meet, threw a personal-best in the shot put (54-10.75; 16.73m)
Placed fifth in the shot put at the 2015 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships
The fifth-place performance in the shot put was a career-best throws finish at a league championships meet
In the same 2015 outdoor campaign, posted his career-best discus mark (157-1; 47.88m) at Arkansas State's Red Wolves Open
Has 11 career top-five finishes
Top indoor throws performance was a third-place finish in the shot put at the 2016 Southeast Missouri Redhawks Invitational (52-0; 15.85m)
Best outdoor throws finish was fourth place in the shot put at the 2017 season-opening Rhodes Invitational (51-11.25; 15.83m)
Career-best indoor weight throw (51-3.75; 15.64m) came at the 2015 Southeast Missouri Redhawks Invitational

Head coach Kevin Robinson comments on Wells:
"Wade's done a good job for us. He's contributed scoring at conference meets throughout his career. He's been a solid member of our throws group the last four years. It's been a pleasure having him as part of the Tigers track and field family."
