Levasseur, Gauthier named to AAC weekly Honor Roll

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After combining for a goal and three assists in a 6-1 victory against Tulsa, seniors Marie Levasseur and Olivia Gauthier were listed to this week's American Athletic Conference Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Levasseur matched a career-high four points with a goal and two assists in her regular-season finale with Memphis. After Tulsa took an early 1-0 lead, the Stoneham, Quebec native scored the equalizer, which was her fifth goal of the season. Levasseur then assisted on the game-winning goal, and added an assist on the Tigers' third goal of the game.
Monday's honor is Levasseur's first weekly recognition of the season.
Gauthier capped her regular-season finale with Memphis tallying an assist and providing stifling defense in the Tigers' 6-1 victory. With under a minute to play in regulation, Gauthier sent a corner kick into the penalty box, where a Tiger header connected for a score. Defensively, Gauthier anchored a backline that limited Tulsa to just six shots throughout the match, including one on goal.
Gauthier's accolade is her third weekly award for the season, including her second Honor Roll nod.
Tigers return to action this week at The American tournament. After earning a first-round bye, Memphis will begin play on Friday at 3:30 p.m. (CT) and will face the winner of UCF vs. Temple.
