MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's basketball team returns to action Monday evening after having 10 days off for the holiday break. The Tigers are set to take on Alabama A&M at 5:30 p.m. at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse in the final non-conference game of the 2019-20 season.

Memphis rides a four-game winning streak into Monday's contest, coming off of a commanding 91-54 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 20. Freshman guard Madison Griggs matched her career-high and school record eight three-pointers in the victory while finishing with a career-high 26 points to pace the Tigers.
Five players scored in double-digits against the Devilettes and junior forward Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu posted her fifth career double-double.
Three players average in double figures for the Tigers, led by sophomore Jamirah Shutes' 16.4 points per game. Fankam Mendjiadeu continues to lead Memphis in rebounding, pulling in 8.0 per game. Griggs leads the Tigers and is second in The American with a 44.7 percent three-point percentage.
Memphis has won seven out of the last eight games with its only setback in the championship game of the Junkanoo Jam against LSU. The 8-4 start is the best start through 12 games since the 2011-12 season.
A Look At Alabama A&M
Alabama A&M comes into Monday's game with a 4-6 overall record with all four wins coming on the road this season. Memphis is the second American Athletic Conference team on the Bulldogs schedule as Alabama A&M competed against Cincinnati on Dec. 17. The Bearcats defeated the Bulldogs by a score of 62-47.
Two players in Dariauna Lewis and DeShawna Harper are scoring in double figures, led by Lewis' 15.9 points per game. She also pulls down a team-high 10.5 rebounds per contest. Lewis has scored at least 20 points in three contests this season including a season-high 31 points against San Diego State.
Margaret Richards is the head coach of the Bulldogs and is currently in her fourth season at the helm of the Alabama A&M program. She previously spent time as an assistant at Clemson and Western Kentucky.
