After going 296-300 in the opening two rounds, Memphis carded a 299 in the final round to finish at 895 (+31), two strokes ahead of Kansas State and 18 ahead of league foe Tulane.

Herrmann Goes Under Par
Senior Abby Herrmann closed her first event of the season in style. She birdied each of her first three holes to quickly move under par for the day. Bogeys on 12 and 13 threatened to push her back toward par, but birdies on 17 and 18 got her back to -3, where she finished the day. Her sub-par round of 69 was one stroke shy of her collegiate low round and was her third collegiate round in the 60s.
Dawson Posts Top 20 Finish
Sophomore Ana Dawson posted her third career top 20 finish at the Trinity Forest Invitational. Her 221 was good for a tie for 16th overall, giving her back-to-back top 20 finishes including a 10th place finish at the American Athletic Conference Championships to end her freshman season.
Course Records Falling
On day one, both Kirsty Hodgins (Colorado) and Michelle Forsland (Oklahoma State) set a new women's amateur course record with 67's. Those marks stood for less than 24 hours as Texas Tech's Sofia Garcia shot a 64 on Tuesday, setting the 18-hole record. Her 54-hole 206 is also a women's amateur record.
Tournament Titles
The team title at the event went to Oklahoma State. OSU scored a 293 on Tuesday to finish at 866, a six-stroke win over runner-up Texas Tech (872, +8). North Texas (875), Baylor (878) and Colorado (884) rounded out the top five.
Garcia's 64 on Tuesday secured her individual medalist honors for Texas Tech and 206 (-10). Colorado's Kirsty Hodgkins was second (210) and Baylor's Gurleen Kaur was third at 212.
League Foes
At the event, there were four American Athletic Conference teams in the 11-team field. Memphis' sixth-place finish led the AAC finishers at the event ahead of Tulane (913), SMU (914), and Tulsa (914).
Up Next
It'll be a quick turnaround for Memphis, who is back in action at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championships next Monday and Tuesday. That event will be hosted by the University of Tennessee at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville.
