Tigers Take 9-4 Win Over IUPUI

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger softball team picked up their first home win of the season with a dominating 9-4 victory over IUPUI.
Following today's games, Memphis moves to 6-11 overall.

How it happened:
- Memphis made it happen early in the game, getting six runs from Kendall Lee, Alyssa Dean, Hannah Bassham, Gracie Morton, Meagan Chism and Alexis Dale to take the 6-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.
- After IUPUI added two runs in the top of the third, Bassham would score off a bases loaded hit-by-pitch to Morton to make it a 7-2 lead.
- Morton would work her way around the bases and extend the Tigers lead out to 8-2 off a wild pitch from IUPUI.
- The Jaguars would attempt a comeback in the top of the fourth inning with another two runs, but Alyssa Dean drove in another insurance run for Memphis in the bottom half of the fourth with a sacrifice bunt that brought Presley Morris across home plate for the eventual 9-4 win.
- Kendall Lee and Meagan Chism recorded multi-hit days with two each while six other Memphis players picked up hits.
- Hallie Siems recorded the win pitching the full 7.0 innings with five strikeouts recorded.
- Memphis will play in the final day of the Blues City Classic tomorrow when they host Indiana State and UT Martin. First pitch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively.
