Tigers Tame Golden Lions in Dominating Win

Following today's games, Memphis moves to 8-12 overall.

How it happened:
- Memphis got on the board early after RBI hits from Taylor Smrt and Alyssa Dean in the bottom of the first game the Tigers the 3-0 lead.
- After UAPB added runs in the top of the second, the Tiger's bats would come alive in the bottom half of the inning after Hannah Bassham, Alexis Dale, Gracie Morton and Camryn Wineinger all crossed the plate to extend their lead out to 7-2.
- The Tigers would add in five more runs in the third inning and another 11 in the fourth inning after six RBI hits from LaNya Bates, Aliana Zavala, Zoe Adebayo, Anna Grace Magee, and Brianna Lucero.
- While the Golden Lions were able put three runs on the board in the top of the 5th inning, the Memphis lead was too much for them to handle and the Tigers went on to take the 23-5 win.
- Alexis Dale, Camryn Wineinger, LaNya Bates, Taylor Smrt, Aliana Zavala, Zoe Adebayo and Alyssa Dean recorded multiple hits today while another five players recorded hits.
- Smrt was responsible for a team-high four RBI while Wineinger, Adebayo and Brianna Lucero all had three.
- Zoey LeCompte got the start and the win today going 1.1 innings while Kailey Hilderbrand and Jenna Gibson finished the remaining 3.2 innings.
- Memphis will host their second home tournament of the month with the UofM Softball Tournament beginning on Thursday. The Tigers will host Central Arkansas and No. 10 Oklahoma State on Thursday, Southeastern Louisiana on Friday and a doubleheader with South Dakota on Sunday afternoon.
