Tigers Last Comeback Not Enough to Top Tulsa

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Following a seventh inning comeback to get within one of the Tulsa, Memphis would not be able to follow through and fell 6-5 in the opening game of their series with the Golden Hurricane.
Following today's game, Memphis moves to 15-27 overall and 1-9 in AAC play.

How it happened:
- After Tulsa opened the top of the first with an RBI single from Kailyn Bearpaw, Memphis would answer right back in the bottom of the second inning when Camryn Wineinger smacked in her third homerun of the season over the left field fence.
- The Golden Hurricane would go on to add a combined five runs in the top of the fifth and sixth innings to extend their lead out to 6-1.
- Memphis began their comeback in the bottom of the seventh when Linsey Hargis singled up the middle to bring Presley Morris and Camryn Wineinger to cut their deficit to 6-3.
- Zoe Adebayo made it an even closer game when she hit a two-run homerun over the left field fence to make it a 6-5 game.
- Unfortunately, Tulsa would secure the final two outs and take the 6-5 win.
- Gracie Morton, Taylor Smrt and Camryn Wineinger all recorded two hits tonight while four other Tiger players picked up hits.
- Hallie Siems got the start tonight going 5.1 innings with three strikeouts. Kailey Hilderbrand finished the remaining 1.2 innings of work with one strikeout.
- The Tigers will continue their series with Tulsa on Friday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Tiger Softball Complex.
- Memphis will stay at home on Tuesday when they host Central Arkansas. First pitched is scheduled for 5 p.m.
