Tigers Struggle Against Wichita State Offense

WICHITA, Kan. – The Memphis softball team struggled on both sides of the field today, falling 19-0 to Wichita State in the final game of the series.
Following today's games, Memphis moves to 16-32 overall and 2-13 in AAC play.

Following today's games, Memphis moves to 16-32 overall and 2-13 in AAC play.
Game One: MEMPHIS: 0, WICHTIA STATE: 19 (5 INNINGS)
How it happened:
- Memphis recorded walks from Linsey Hargis and Gracie Morton in the top of the third inning to get runners at first and second. But, they would ultimately get stranded after a fly-out to center field.
- The Tigers would not record another base runner as the Shocker defense held strong through the remainder of the game.
- Wichita State would dominate from the plate today, scoring 19 runs in four innings. They would cruise to the 19-0 win and take the series.
- Kailey Hilderbrand got the start today while Mikayla Hoschak, Jenna Gibson and Hallie Siems all made appearances today.
UP NEXT
- The Tigers will return to the Bluff City on Tuesday when they host Ole Miss at the Tiger Softball Complex. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. with coverage on ESPN+.
- Memphis will then hit the road for a single game at North Alabama on Thursday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
