Tigers to Host South Florida on Sunday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis volleyball team returns to Elma Roane Fieldhouse for its home finale on Sunday against South Florida at 1 p.m., with the match being broadcast on ESPN+.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Memphis (10-18, 1-12 American) enters the weekend after dropping a road match to UAB on Wednesday evening.
Zaniah Hoskins and Za'Niya Boyles led the offense with 12 and 11 kills, respectively, while both finished with double-digit point totals. Hoskins has totaled 275 kills and currently averages 2.93 per set on the season.
Setter Maddy Bach tallied 20 assists for her 11th match this season with 20 or more. Bach has recorded 602 assists, averaging 6.47 assists per set. Sydney Marshall followed with 11 and is currently averaging 5.13 assists per set on the season.
Janyah Henderson led the team in blocks with five, including one solo. The junior middle blocker ranks eighth in the American Conference in blocks per set at 1.07.
Taylor Hampton donned the libero jersey for the first time in her collegiate career against UAB, recording 15 digs in the match. Abigail Schlueter leads the Tigers with 339 digs and averages 3.39 per set this season.
SCOUTING THE BULLS
South Florida (14-10, 10-3 American) enters the weekend after dropping a four-set match to UAB on Friday evening.
The Bulls rank third in the American in assists and kills per set, averaging 12.67 assists and 13.6 kills.
Maria Clara Andrade recorded 19 kills and 20 points to bring her season total to 353 kills. Andrade leads the American in kills and points per set with 4.28 kills and 4.87 points. The senior was named to the American's honorable mention list this past Monday.
Raegan Richardson posted 31 assists in the match, bringing her season total to 785. She averages 9.13 assists per set, which ranks second in the conference.
Three Bulls (Samiha Foster, 12; Raegan Richardson, 10; Miya Thomas, 10) tallied double-digit digs in their previous match against the Blazers.
On the defensive side, Imani Hartfield recorded five block assists, giving her 60 this season at an average of 0.85 per set.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST SOUTH FLORIDA
This marks the 39th meeting between Memphis and South Florida, with the Bulls holding a 24-match advantage in the series. South Florida won the previous matchup last season in four sets, but Memphis took the last meeting in Memphis during the 2023 season.
