DENTON, Texas – Memphis (14-18, 3-6 AAC) softball dropped its third game in the series against North Texas (22-10, 5-4 AAC), 6-1, Sunday afternoon at Lovelace Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tigers tallied the first run in the top of the first inning when Neely Taylor scored on a wild pitch.
- Memphis drew four walks in its first seven at-bats.
- North Texas took the lead in the bottom half of the inning, bringing two across on bases-loaded walks.
- Lyrical Bennett entered in relief with two outs in the first inning.
- Both Memphis and North Texas left the bases loaded in the first inning.
- A leadoff double by Drue Thomas came to pass as she was caught stealing on an attempted hit-and-run.
- In the top of the third inning, Memphis left two runners in scoring position after a lineout by Faith Brown ended the inning.
- A sacrifice fly from Kailyn Bearpaw extended North Texas' lead to four runs in the bottom of the third.
- On the next at-bat, Ausha Moore sent a ball to right field, where Arianna Cox-Cole made the catch and threw out the runner trying to score for an inning-ending double play.
- Another sacrifice fly in the fourth inning off the bat of Cierra Simon gave North Texas its sixth run of the game.
- It was Simon's third RBI of the game.
- Both North Texas and Memphis went hitless and scoreless during the fifth and sixth innings.
- Neely Taylor reached on an infield single in the top of the seventh inning, but the Tigers grounded out to end the game.

- Jericho Tate takes the loss and moves to a 2-4 record this season.
- Memphis was swept for the first time this season.
- Neely Taylor recorded one hit in her 32nd start of the season.
- She currently holds the team lead in hits (37) and batting average (.385).
- Mia Brown finished the day going 1-for-2 with a walk.
- Drue Thomas made her third start of the season in left field and recorded her second double of the year.
- Zoe Adebayo extends her bases-reached streak to ten games after drawing a walk today.
