Tigers Defeat Florida Atlantic to Play in American Athletic Conference Championship Finals

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team downed the 3rd-ranked Owls of Florida Atlantic during the American Athletic Conference's semi-final match Saturday morning with a 4-2 decision.
After the Owls took an early 1-0 lead in the match with the doubles point, Memphis collected three consecutive singles wins from Sam Reeve, Pablo Alemany and Harry Rock on courts five, two and four, respectively.
Florida Atlantic took court six following a 6-3, 6-4 win from Marek Pazdera to make it a 3-2 score in the match.
Conor Gannon put the match on his back for the second consecutive day when he secured match point on a 6-3, 6-4 victory on court one.
Memphis will play No. 5 Rice tomorrow morning at Leftwich Tennis Center. First serve is set for 10 a.m. This will be the third time in the last four seasons Memphis will play in the Championship match.
