Memphis to Face Florida Atlantic in Weekend Series

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Memphis softball (17-30, 4-17 AAC) travels to play Florida Atlantic (38-9, 17-4 AAC) for a weekend series to close out its seven-game road stand in the Sunshine State.
All games will be broadcast on ESPN+ on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at central times of 5 p.m., 1 p.m. and 11 a.m., respectively.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Memphis enters the series after snapping a six-game losing streak with an 8-3 victory over Bethune-Cookman in a midweek nonconference contest.
The Tiger lineup continues to be led by Zoe Adebayo, who has now moved into the team lead in doubles after a 3-for-4, two double, two RBI performance in the midweek victory. On the season, Adebayo holds a .325 batting average and leads Memphis in doubles (10), triples (3), home runs (9), RBI (33) and walks (29), while sitting at second on the team in hits with 39. Kennedy Semien sits third on the team with a .304 average and she also ranks second in doubles (9) and RBI (22). Additionally, Semien leads the Tigers in runs scored with 31.
Another active bat in the Memphis lineup hitting over .300 is Ariel Davis. After moving into a starting role, Davis has emerged to lead the offense in triples (2) in American Athletic Conference play, and she also has four doubles and 19 RBI on the season.
Three Tigers featured in Wednesday's win over Bethune-Cookman, with Rylee Dugar and Taniyah Brown throwing a scoreless frame each after Jericho Tate went five innings, earning the victory. Dugar currently leads the staff with 53 strikeouts, while Brown holds the lowest ERA with a 4.43. Lyrical Bennett continues to lead Memphis in innings pitched (100.2) and complete games (7). She and Dugar are tied for the team lead in starts with 14 but Dugar has made one more appearance in the circle this season.

RV Florida Atlantic is coming off five days without a game as they most recently swept East Carolina.
The Owls boast a stout offense rooted in consistency. Currently, they have five hitters above the .300 mark in batting average, all of which have started in every game this season. Nationally, the Florida Atlantic offense has the 30th-highest batting average and rank within the top 50 in RBI, hits and doubles. Bella Foran, a true freshman, holds the 18th-best batting average (.461) in the country, a mark which also leads the AAC.
Florida Atlantic ranks 22nd nationally in team ERA with a 2.56. The staff is led by Autumn Courtney. The Queens (N.C.) transfer holds top 50 marks in ERA (1.88), hits allowed per seven innings (3.80), shutouts (4), strikeouts (139) and wins (20). Her performances are supplemented by Ainsley Lambert, who leads the nation in saves with nine. Lambert holes the 27th-lowest ERA in the NCAA with a 1.78 and a current strikeout-to-walk ratio of 3.90.
The Owls also have one of the strongest defenses in the country, having only committed 20 errors all season, resulting in a .983 fielding percentage. Both numbers rank third in the NCAA.
