BOCA RATON, Fla. – Memphis (17-33, 4-20 AAC) softball fell by mercy rule, 10-2, in its third contest of the weekend against RV Florida Atlantic (41-9, 20-4 AAC) Sunday at Joan Joyce Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Memphis opened the scoring with a run in the first inning on an RBI groundout by Zoe Adebayo.
- Kennedy Semien scored after leading off the game with a triple to right-center field.
A four-run first inning put Florida Atlantic ahead in the early stages of the series finale.
- An RBI groundout by Jesiana Mora brought in FAU's first run of the contest.
- The second run came across on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Chloe Yeatts.
- A single by Bella Cimino scored Destiny Johns.
- The final run came on a bases-loaded walk drawn by Bella Foran.
Jesiana Mora scored on a wild pitch in the second inning to extend FAU's lead to four runs.
- Mora had reached on a triple in her at-bat.
The Tigers picked up a run in the third inning on a two-out RBI double by Kayla Clement.
- The double was Clement's second of the series and resulted in her first RBI of the season.
The Owls brought two runs home in the fourth inning on a two-RBI single to left field by Kylie Channell.
The game ended with a three-home run home run by Kylie Hammonds, enacting the mercy rule.
- All three runs were unearned due to a defensive error on a previous plate appearance.

NOTABLES

Rylee Dugar threw the final four innings, allowing three earned runs.
- Taniyah Brown was tagged with the loss after going 0.2 innings, falling to 4-7 on the year.
The Tigers pitching staff did not record a strikeout in the series finale.
- In the series, the strikeout totals were 24-to-4 in favor of Florida Atlantic.
Kennedy Semien went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored in her first start of the season as a shortstop.
- It was Semien's first triple of the season.
Kayla Clement recorded her second double of the season and series, also tallying her first RBI as a Memphis Tiger.
Zoe Adebayo went 0-for-1 at the plate with an RBI. She also reached on a hit-by-pitch.
