WICHITA, Kan. – The University of Memphis baseball team fell to Wichita State, 3-1, in the series finale at Eck Stadium in Wichita, Kansas, Saturday afternoon to conclude its 2025 season.
With the defeat, the Tigers finish the year 22-33 (8-19 AAC) on the season while Wichita State improved to 20-34 overall (11-16 AAC). After Memphis took a 1-0 lead on an RBI single by Justin Fogel in the top of the first inning, the Shockers strung together three-unanswered runs to earn the win.
"I'm thankful for our seniors who put a ton of work and effort into this program," head coach Matt Riser said. "They had multiple opportunities this year to lay down with all the challenges we had, and they never wavered. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to coach them, and they will forever have a place in my heart. They will forever be Memphis Tigers."
