MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis women's basketball announced the signing of true freshman Brooklynn Charlo to the 2025-26 roster.
Charlo, a 6-foot combo guard, joins the Tigers from IMG Academy in Florida, where she helped her team to the 2025 Chipotle High School Nationals Championship. Fueled by 13 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, she was named MVP of the championship game, an 80-78 victory over Montverde. Between the semi-final and the final, she totaled 32 points and 10 treys.
"Brooklynn is a dynamic guard with great size and scoring ability. She has the pedigree of a champion and puts in work on the court," said head coach Alex Simmons. "She is coming off of a national championship and is still hungry to have a great freshman season. We are very lucky to have Brooklynn in our program."
Rated a four-star recruit and top-150 prospect by Prospects Nation, Charlo joined IMG Academy from Riverdale Ridge High School in Thornton, Colorado. In her junior season, she averaged 13 points, four rebounds and four assists per game as the Ravens won the Colorado 4A State Championship. She also played for Hardwood Elite, an Adidas-sponsored 3SSB team in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
The Mead, Colorado, native will fill out a guard room that includes Brooklyn and Kennedi Alexander, Cori Allen, Chae Harris, Jordan Hunter and Daejah Richmond. She is one of two true freshmen, joining Jah'Naesia Spiers, who will make up the frontcourt alongside returners Bailey Gilmore and Tamya Smith and transfers Paris Gaines and Amauri Williams.
