Illinois Transfer Cori Allen Inks with Tigers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis women's basketball announced Wednesday the signing of Cori Allen for the 2025-26 season.
Allen spent two seasons at Illinois, where she played in 46 games and totaled 369 minutes. She averaged 7.6 rebounds per 36 minutes across her two years in Champaign.
The 5-foot-10 guard grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds in an 85-60 win at Northwestern on Jan. 23, 2025, adding six points and two assists in 30 minutes of action.
"Cori is a great addition for many reasons, among those is her pedigree. She has a mindset of winning and an unstoppable competitive nature," said head coach Alex Simmons. "Cori is a Tennessee native, so the pride that she has for this state and for our university is infectious."
A native of Nashville, Allen was a highly touted high school recruit. She played two seasons at Hillsboro High School before transferring to Montverde Academy in Florida. Rated a four-star recruit, she was ranked 13th nationally by Prep Girl Hoops and 78th by All-Star Girls Report. She also received an invitation to the 2021 USA Basketball Women's U16 National Team trials.
The fifth portal addition of the offseason, Allen joins Brooklyn and Kennedi Alexander (Tulsa), Jordan Hunter (Auburn) and Amauri Williams (Prairie View A&M).
