Swathwood Finishes USGA Girls Junior Championship in Second Round Playoff

JOHNS CREEK, Ga.– University of Memphis women's golfer Claire Swathwood finished up second round play at the USGA Girls Junior Championship Wednesday morning. Swathwood found herself in a playoff early that morning for a spot in the Round of 64.
"Unfortunately, missing match play in a playoff was not the finish I was looking for, but I am overall happy with how I played," Swathwood said. "I have been making great progress with my golf game and I'm excited for the college season ahead."
After shooting 75 (+4) in the first round of play, Swathwood came out with a 73 score on Tuesday to end up in a nine-way tie for 61stplace. Looking to secure a spot in the Round of 64, Swathwood played hole 10 once again (380-yard, par four) and came up with a bogey.
