Jul 23, 2025 | Men's Basketball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The American Conference unveiled its league matchups for the 2025-26 men's basketball season Wednesday, setting the stage for Memphis and head coach Penny Hardaway.
The Tigers are slated to play 18 conference games, featuring six home-and-home series against familiar American foes: Tulane, South Florida, UAB, Wichita State, Florida Atlantic and North Texas.
Memphis will host Temple, UTSA and Charlotte at FedExForum for single matchups, while hitting the road for one-time meetings at Tulsa, East Carolina and Rice. Official dates and tip-off times will be announced at a later date.
Conference play is set to begin Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, and will run through Sunday, March 8, 2026. Details surrounding the 2026 American Men's Basketball Championship will be released in the coming months.
The 2025-26 season ushers in a new era for the Tigers, who are set to debut a completely revamped roster following a 29-6 campaign that included both American regular-season and tournament championships. Memphis earned a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament and ended last season ranked No. 25 in the final Associated Press poll.
