Plethora of Tigers Compete in ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team had four athletes compete in the ITA All-American Championships this past week with all players competing in singles and doubles competitions.

Starting out, Maxime Dubouch took down former teammate Michael Kouame (UNLV) 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the prequalifying singles competition. Leandro Zgraggen also collected a win in the opening round taking a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Joaquin Guilleme (Wake Forest).

In the qualifying singles bracket, Moritz Kudernatsch fell to Kacper Szymkowiak (Wake Forest) before claiming a 6-3, 6-2 won over Sebastian Sec (Princeton) in the consolation bracket.

In doubles play, Zgraggen and Obrad Markovski teamed up for a 6-3, 6-4 win over Will Pellegrini/Myles Peterson (Bryant) before falling to Santiago Giamichelle/Derrick Chen (Georgia). Kudernatsch/Dubouch also collected a first-round win over a duo from Troy (4-6, 6-2, [10-7]) before going down to the wire with Taym Alazmeh/Danial Rakhmatullayev (Michigan State) and falling 4-6, 6-3, [6-10].
