Tigers Clash with Temple to Wrap Road Trip
Feb 21, 2026 | Women's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA – Memphis women's basketball concludes their road trip on Sunday afternoon at Temple. The game will now tip off at 1 p.m. ET to accommodate for potential inclement weather in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers (8-18, 2-11 American) will look to bounce back after dropping two consecutive games in three days against Tulane. The fourth game in nine days is the penultimate road game for Memphis in 2025-26; three of their final four games will be at Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
Two of the founding members of the American Conference, Temple and Memphis have faced off 20 times with the Owls taking 14. They won both games last season en route to a top-four seed in the conference tournament, 74-66 in Philadelphia and 91-79 in Memphis. Tamya Smith had 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting as the Tigers used a 14-0 run to take the lead in the fourth quarter before falling at home.
Temple (11-14, 5-8 American) snapped a three-game skid with an impressive 58-54 win at Charlotte on Wednesday. Despite being picked fourth in the preseason coaches' poll, the Owls find themselves fighting for a top-10 spot and a conference tournament berth in Diane Richardson's fourth season as head coach.
Kaylah Turner leads the American by over a point per game in scoring, registering 16.6 points per game on the season. Three additional players average double digits, including Saniyah Craig who adds 10.9 points and 8.0 rebounds. As a team, they rank fourth in the conference in offensive rebounds, led by Craig and Jaleesa Molina.
