T&F Meet Seven: Rhodes Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn.– Memphis track and field opens their outdoor schedule in Memphis, Tennessee, at the Rhodes Invitational on Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21.
This two-day meet will be at Crain Field with Rhodes College being the host school. Live results as well as the schedule can be found above. Field events begin Friday at 3 p.m. with the triple jump, while the women's 5,000-meter kicks off action on the track at 5:30 p.m. Saturday's competition opens with the pole vault at 9:30 a.m., followed by the 4x100-meter relay at 11:30 a.m.
Memphis put up an outstanding performance during their indoor campaign which was highlighted by Robert Randall breaking the 5,000-meter school record of 14:22.44 during the American Conference Indoor Championships.
Memphis also saw dominant performances in the field events during the indoor postseason. Jazmyn James claimed gold in the shot put with a toss of 16.34 meters, while teammate Poorna Raorane secured third place with a mark of 15.70 meters.
On the men's side, Oageng Mdlela and the 4x400-meter relay team both earned third-place finishes. Mdlela jumped 15.46 meters in the triple jump, while the team of Kouto Anyika, Jacari Simpson, Bryson Wilson and Courtland Noble put up a time of 3:10.64 in the 4x400-meter relay.
Looking ahead to the outdoor season, Memphis returns 10 of its 16 NCAA Regional qualifiers from 2025. This veteran group includes six throwers, two sprinters, and Mdlela—the reigning American Conference triple jump champion. Additionally, NCAA Championship qualifiers Gabriel Koletsi and Sascha Salesius Schmidt return to lead the Tigers in the javelin and shot put, respectively.
