Tigers-Bulls to Move to Friday Doubleheader Due to Inclement Weather
Mar 04, 2026 | Softball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis softball has announced schedule changes for its opening series of American Conference play against South Florida this weekend, due to inclement weather expected in the area. What was originally a traditional three-game series will now feature a doubleheader on Friday with start times of 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., with Saturday's game remaining at 2 p.m.
The Tigers (7-13) look for a strong start in conference play after securing two wins in a midweek doubleheader against Oakland. Ariel Davis remains the team's leader in hits, runs, triples, home runs and RBI while hitting .397 on the year and Avery Stutts has emerged as a key arm in the rotation with two complete game victories and 36.1 innings pitched in the circle.
South Florida (17-8) is set for just its third game away from home after starting the season with 20 home games and most recently going 2-3 in the 2026 T-Mobile Crimson Classic, hosted by Alabama. Alex Wilkes sits as the Bulls' leader in average at .353 and has 29 RBI on the season, good for 20th in the NCAA. In the circle, the Bulls boast a 2.84 ERA, with Anne Long leading the staff with a 1.20 ERA over 40.2 innings with 32 strikeouts.
