T&F Meet 13: American Conference Outdoor Championships

DENTON, Texas – Memphis track and field heads to Denton, Texas, for the American Conference Outdoor Championships that will start on Thursday, May 14 and end on Saturday, May 16.
North Texas will host this three-day meet at the Norma Knobel Hunt Stadium. A link to live results as well as the meet's schedule can be found above. All three days will be broadcast on ESPN+ which can be found above.
The hammer throw will kick off day one for the field events starting at 11 a.m. while the women's 1,500-meter trials will start the track events at 6:30 p.m. On Friday, the women's shot put will start at 1:30 p.m. to start the field events while the women's 100-meter hurdles kick off the track events at 5:25 p.m. On the final day of championships, the women's discus opens the competition at 1:30 p.m. for the field events and the finals for the track events start at 4:30 p.m. with the women's 400-meter relay being first.
Last time out, the Tigers captured 18 victories at the Memphis Tiger Invitational as well as 18 personal-bests. Lilith Stenger and Daryl Smith Jr. dominated the jumps competition by winning their respective events. Stenger set a new career-best jump at 1.76 meters in the high jump while Smith jumped 15.55 meters in the triple jump.
Throwers Maddie Roberts and Edward O'Brien secured first-place in the javelin event. Roberts threw 48.99 meters while O'Brien recorded a toss of 58.18 meters.
On the track, Ann-Marie Braese and Kenny Guy won their 5,000-meter races with Braese clocked at a time of 17:52.36 while Guy put up a time of 14:38.58 for their second victories of the season.
At last year's championships, there were 11 Tigers that finished on the podium. Oageng Mdlela brought home the triple jump title with a jump of 15.85 meters, which is his career-best mark.
