MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis volleyball team (2-5) fell to Boston College (6-1) in four-sets inside Elma Roane Fieldhouse on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the opening set, both Memphis and Boston College battled point-for-point until the Eagles went on a 7-0 run to gain an 11-6 advantage. Arianna Mongare and Amanda Hardt responded with a kill each alongside a BC attack error to cut the deficit to two. Boston College extended its lead to 14-9 with a 3-0 run of its own. Caitlyn Little put up two late service aces along with a kill from Kaylee Parker to give the Tigers momentum, but the Eagles closed on back-to-back 3-0 runs to win the first set, 25-18.

The second set started similarly to the first before a service error sparked a 6-0 run for the Eagles. Hardt responded with a kill, but Sam Hoppes pushed the offense for Boston College with back-to-back kills. Memphis recorded late kills from Hardt and Little, but the Eagles closed with a 5-0 run to take the set, 25-18.

Both teams traded points for most of the third set until a Boston College service error sparked a 7-0 run for Memphis, giving the Tigers a 22-15 advantage. Little and Hardt each recorded a kill alongside a solo block from Parker during the run. Reese Dunkle added a late kill for the Eagles, but kills from Hardt and Dawn Moore gave Memphis a 25-17 set victory.

The fourth set mirrored the first three until Boston College took momentum with a 4-0 run. Lily Hamilton and Little tied the set at 11 with back-to-back kills. A block assist from Hoppes and Dunkle put the Eagles ahead 18-17 after a 3-0 run. Hamilton answered with a kill to spark a 3-0 Memphis response, but Audrey Ross delivered a kill that initiated a final 6-0 run to give the Eagles the set and match victory, 25-22.

NOTABLES

Amanda Hardt led the Tigers offensively with 16 kills and 17 points.
Caitlyn Little followed with 14 kills and 16.5 points.
Sydney Marshall dished out 33 assists during the contest.
- The junior has recorded 33 or more assists in four games this season.
Abigail Schlueter put up 14 digs.
Kaylee Parker led the Tigers at the net with five blocks, including one solo block.
