Tiger Sports Medicine Facilities


On the University of Memphis campus there are currently five fully staffed athletic training facilities located in the Laurie Walton Center, Larry O. Finch Center, the Elma Roane Fieldhouse and two in the Billy J Murphy Athletic Complex. Multiple satellite facilities are also available at sport specific venues. Memphis student-athletes can be assured of receiving the best medical attention and rehabilitation services available.
The athletic training facilities contain multiple Hydroworx 1000, an in-ground aquatic rehabilitation pool and an anti-gravity treadmill allowing athletic trainers to work on rehabilitating injuries without having the student-athlete support his/her own full body weight. The athletic training facilities include other high-end rehabilitation equipment such as Personalized Tourniquet System for Blood Flow Restriction therapy, a Biodex unit for strength measurement/rehabilitation, and a Hivamat unit. These just a few examples of equipment our athletic trainers use daily alongside many other state-of-the-art modalities.
The athletic training rooms also contain doctor examination rooms, recovery areas, and space for our chiropractor to work on athletes. The athletic training room is designed to provide athletes with best care possible, ensuring peak performance and speedy recoveries.
The sports medicine staff uses a comprehensive approach to injury care and wellness of student-athletes by utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment with the latest methods in the care and prevention of injuries. Our staff continues take steps every year to improve their practice adding different disciplines and certifications to their catalog to make sure Memphis student-athletes receive the best care possible.
