Dr. JerMilton Woods

Dr. JerMilton Woods joined the Memphis Athletic Department in August 2025 as the Director of Athletic Events and Facilities.
In his current role, he carries out the day-to-day operation, maintenance and scheduling of all athletic facilities, leads assigned maintenance projects and facility upgrades, serves as the game manager for assigned sports and collaborates with Associate Athletic Director on capital projects and monitoring the events and facilities budget. Also, Woods supervises the athletic event and facilities coordinators, graduate assistants, hourly/temporary workers and student workers.
Most recently, Woods spent 2021-25 at Belmont University first as a Coordinator of Athletic Facilities and Event Operations before moving into an assistant director role within the same department. In his time at Belmont, he served as a community liaison between Belmont Athletics and the Edgehill & Rose Park neighborhood communities, coordinated shared use and operations of the Rose Park athletic complex and assisted with planning and execution of athletic events held at Rose Park. Additionally, he addressed concerns regarding scheduling, facility usage and neighborhood impact while strengthening partnerships with local organizations, schools and residents to maintain goodwill and support for Belmont Athletics.
Prior to working with Belmont, Woods spent three years at Tennessee State, starting as a graduate assistant in marketing, promotions, game day operations and facilities before moving into a role as a coordinator of game day operations, marketing, facilities and promotions. Woods coordinated in-game promotions and fan experiences through campus initiatives and enhancing the game day atmosphere. He also supported planning and execution of events related to football, basketball and special tournaments while also designing and implementing marketing and social media plans to promote teams, events and fan attendance.
Woods earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science and master's degree in sport administration from Tennessee State University in 2018 and 2020, respectively. In 2025, he completed his Doctorate of Education in Global Sport Leadership from East Tennessee State University.
Woods, a native Memphian, is a lifelong Tiger Basketball fan and has always dreamed of returning to the Bluff City as a member of the Athletic Department. He currently resides in Memphis with his wife, S. Nicole Woods.
