Harley King joined Memphis Athletics in July 2022 as Associate Athletic Director, Compliance following three years at Bowling Green State University and 10 years at West Virginia University. King’s responsibilities at Memphis include providing leadership and oversight to the compliance office to assure the athletics department conforms with NCAA, American Conference and University of Memphis rules and regulations, and he also serves as the men’s soccer sport administrator.Â

King arrived in Bowling Green in 2019 as the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance, and he was named Associate Athletics Director in July 2020. In March 2022, King added women’s soccer to his sport oversight duties which already included men's soccer. At BGSU, King was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the compliance department, serving all 18 teams and 425 student-athletes.

At West Virginia, King served as the Compliance Coordinator from 2009-13 and was then promoted to Director of Compliance. Prior to his time in Morgantown, King was the Interim Director of Compliance at Ohio University as well as a compliance assistant.Â
King has been an active member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) since 2008.
He earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Kent State in 2007 and a master's degree in Recreation and Sport Sciences from Ohio in 2009.
