Justin Fenlon joined Memphis Athletics in the fall of 2018 as Coordinator, Athletic Business and Travel, moved to Director, Athletic Business and Travel and then was elevated to his current role of Assistant Athletic Director, Business Operations in the winter of 2022.
In his role, Fenlon helps manage all aspects of team and recruiting travel for Memphis' programs and reviews and approves department purchasing, invoice processing and travel reconciliations. He also serves as the department liaison to numerous areas of campus, including accounting, procurement, contract services, shared services and human resources.
Prior to joining Memphis, Fenlon held various business and client service positions within the NHL (Phoenix Coyotes, Washington Capitals) and Minor League Baseball (Nashville Sounds) and served as an Event Services Manager at Keppler Speakers Bureau, managing travel and logistics for high-profile celebrity speakers.
Fenlon earned his bachelor's degree in from Springfield (Mass.) College in 2006, where he was a member of the cross country and track and field teams and was named to the NEWMAC (New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference) Academic All-Conference Team in multiple years. He earned a master's degree in Sport Management from Middle Tennessee State University in 2016 while working at the Ohio Valley Conference office as the Championship Events Assistant.
Fenlon was born in Boston and grew up in Chatham, N.J. He currently resides in Collierville and can be found volunteer coaching various youth sports for his two sons, Johnny and Cameron.
