• Memphis opened scoring 19 seconds into the game on a Wesley Witherspoon free throw.
• Tarik Black picked up two fouls in the first 53 seconds of game-time. He sat most of the first half, returning for the last 2:16.
• 1-2-3 Let's Go: Memphis' first three scores came on a free-throw (Witherspoon), a two-point jumper (W. Barton) and a three-point shot (Carmouche) in sequential order.
• Memphis had a double-digit lead, 14-4, within the first five minutes of the game on a Joe Jackson three-pointer.
• Memphis held Belmont without a field goal, 0-for-8, for the first 6:33 of the game. All four points the Bruins scored were from the charity stripe.
• Memphis went on a 13-0 run that went from the 18:53 mark until Belmont's J.J. Mann's basket at 13:27.
