Tigers' 2017 season comes to an end.

WICHITA, Kan. – University of Memphis freshman Hannah Flowers knocked down eight kills and freshman Kate Hoerdemann collected 11 digs, but it wasn't enough as No. 20 Wichita State came away with a 3-0 American Athletic Conference victory over the Tigers Friday. The Shockers won the match by scores of 25-17, 25-14 and 25-11.

The match was the regular-season finale for both teams.

With the setback, the Tigers wrapped up its 2017 campaign with a 10-22 overall record and a 3-17 league mark. Wichita State improved to 28-3 overall and a perfect 20-0 in the league. The Shockers won the American Athletic Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and enters the postseason next week.

Tigers Tidbits

Freshman Hannah Flowers registered eight kills vs. the Shockers Friday. It was her ninth-straight match with six or more kills.
Flowers finished the 2017 season as the team's kills leader with 257.
Brianna Kadiku had six kills vs. Wichita State Friday. It was her 13^th-straight match with six or more kills.
Kadiku completed her sophomore campaign as the team's second-leading attacker with 256 kills.
Freshman Kate Hoerdemann registered 11 digs Friday for her 10^th double-figures performance of the season. She finished the campaign with 254 digs, which was second-most on the squad.
Freshman Alyssa Kronberg had eight digs vs. Wichita State. She wrapped up her inaugural campaign with a team-high 391 digs.
Senior Faith Myers had 13 assists Friday, and she registered double-digit assists in 31 of the 32 matches in 2017. She had a team-high 709 assists this season and finished her career with 1,507 assists.
Senior Regan Comperry added 12 assists vs. Wichita State, and she wrapped up the 2017 campaign with 377 assists. She finished her career with 1,118 assists.

- The match was the first time Memphis played at Wichita State in Tigers program history
- It also was the first time Memphis played a volleyball match vs. an NCAA Division I foe in the state of Kansas.
Set One (Wichita State 25-17)
- Memphis stayed close to the Shockers in the set's first 18 points, tying the score five times in that span.
- A Brianna Kadiku kill knotted the score at 9-all.
- The Shockers then went on a 10-4 run to grab a 19-13 lead and put the set out of reach.
- Memphis closed to within five at 22-17, but got no closer the remainder of the set.
Set Two (Wichita State 25-14)
- The Tigers pushed out to an early 4-3 lead on the strength of two Hannah Flowers kills.
- Wichita State used a 7-3 spurt to regain the advantage at 10-7.
