Tigers Drop Opening Game At Tulsa
Mar 29, 2019 | Softball
Ashley Threatt registers fourth home run of the season
TULSA, Okla. – The Memphis softball team dropped game one of the weekend against Tulsa by a 5-1 margin.
Â
A seventh inning comeback attempt fell short for the Tigers, with a home run by Ashley Threatt being the only score for Memphis. Memphis drops to 18-15 overall, with a 2-2 conference record.
Â
It was a pitching duel through the first three innings as neither team was able to generate any offense. During that period of time, there was just one hit in the game.
Â
Tulsa struck first with a home run in the fourth but the offense would continue to come slowly for both teams.
Â
The Golden Hurricane built their lead with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Threatt's homer in the top of the seventh would spark some hope, but it wasn't enough as the Tigers couldn't find an answer.
