MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Tigers volleyball made it two straight weeks with at least one player on the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll, as junior middle hitter Miaya Smith earned her first AAC honors with a dazzling performance in Memphis' weekend sweep of Louisiana Tech.
In two matches against the Lady Techsters, Smith hit a conference-high .611, which included a .789 hitting percentage with 16 kills in the team's Saturday win. The transfer from Christian Brothers University logged 24 total kills over the weekend and sits second on the team with 41 kills through four matches.
Smith joins freshman Sam Drewry and Bailey Houlihan, who were each named to the AAC Honor Roll last week.
Memphis returns to action on Friday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. on the road vs. Tulane. The teams will meet the following day at 1 p.m., while the Tigers next play at home Feb. 18-19 vs. Tulsa.
