No. 13 Tigers Take Loss in Tri-Match with No. 10 Nebraska, No. 12 Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The No. 13 Memphis rifle team fell to No. 10 Nebraska and No. 12 Navy in a tri-match Sunday morning in Annapolis, Maryland with an aggregate team score of 4691.

No. 12 Navy won the match with an aggregate of 4699, while No. 10 Nebraska finished second with a 4697.

"Today was a hard fought match with some strong parts," Memphis head coach Morgan Phillips said. "I think that we learned a lot and know what to take forward. We had another stellar individual performance in Kenlee (Ewton) today. She had a personal best in smallbore and followed up with another excellent air rifle match. Gabriela wasn't far behind her with strong matches in both guns as well.

"There is plenty of stuff for us to continue to work on before we're back home next weekend."

KEY MOMENTS

Sophomore Kenlee Ewton placed third overall with a career high-tying aggregate of 1180. She paced the Tigers in both relays with a 585 in smallbore, which matched her career high, and shot the second-best total (595) in air rifle.
Junior Gabriela Zych finished sixth overall behind an 1178 aggregate. She was second on the squad with a 585 in smallbore and a 595 in air rifle. Her 78 aggregate centers was the most on the team.
Sophomore Katrina Demerle rounded out Memphis' top-10 performances with an 8^th-place finish. She posted an 1170 aggregate with a 583 in smallbore and a 587 in air rifle.
