Memphis Falls 3-0 to Tulsa on the Road

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Memphis Volleyball dropped 3-0 to Tulsa Sunday afternoon at the Reynolds Center.
The Tigers (10-12, 4-6 AAC) fell in a 3-0 sweep to the Golden Hurricane (15-7, 7-3) and were led by Hannah Jones with 10 kills. Jasmyn Tate followed behind with nine, and Tabytha Toelke recorded seven kills as well.
The opening set started with back-and-forth action, neither team having more than a three-point advantage. The Golden Hurricane went on a 6-0 run late in the set to go up 20-15. Tulsa went on to win the last four out of five points to take the first set 25-19.
Memphis took an early 6-3 lead to start the second set. The Tigers extended their lead with a 4-1 run to go up 15-11. Tulsa fought back to bring the deficit down to one, however, Memphis used a 3-0 run to extend the lead once again. The Golden Hurricane made a push late in the set to even the score at 23, ultimately winning the set 28-26.
Tulsa carried their momentum into the third set, going up 7-3. Memphis tried to make a comeback using a 4-0 run, but the Golden Hurricane kept its foot on the gas, pushing through to a 25-18.

The Tigers will be back at the Larry O. Finch Center next weekend to play East Carolina on Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. and North Texas on Sunday, Nov. 3 at noon. Both matches will be available to stream on ESPN+.
