Tigers Drop Final Match of Regular Season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis Volleyball dropped 3-0 to Tulsa in their final regular season match.
   
The Tigers (12-16, 6-10 AAC) fought hard but came up short against the Golden Hurricane (18-10, 10-6) and were led by Hannah Jones with ten kills. Clara Bednarek followed behind with seven kills.
 
Tulsa started the opening set on a 10-0 run, going up 11-3. Memphis responded with a 6-0 run to bring the deficit to three. The Tigers fought hard but unfortunately could not close the gap, dropping the first set 25-20.
 
Tulsa continued their momentum into the second set, going up 14-5. The Golden Hurricane dominated this set, not letting the Tigers within six points. Tulsa took the second set, 25-16.
 
The Tigers found themselves again in a hole to start the third set, down 9-3. Memphis fought back with a 5-1 run to cut the deficit to two. The Golden Hurricane extended their lead, using a 8-1 run en route to a 25-13 victory.
 
 
UP NEXT
Memphis will await other results in the conference that will determine conference seeding and whether the Tigers will qualify for the AAC Tournament. As of right now, four-way tie for the eighth seed with UAB, Tulane and Temple, with tiebreakers to determine who will earn the final seed.
