Tigers Head to Tuscaloosa for Crimson Tide Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama. – The University of Memphis track and field team is back on the track this weekend, competing at the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Friday April 5 and Saturday April 6. Action can be followed with live results.
"I'm excited to get the full team back together competing in the same place," head coach Kevin Robinson said. "Hoping to build on some successful performances this weekend. We have another great opportunity in front of us, so I hope we capitalize on it and continue to improve."
NOTABLES
• Last time out, Gizel Clayton ran a season-best time of 13.59 (+3.1 m/s) in the women's 100-meter hurdles. She finished 19th overall in the first round and moved to No. 3 in the American Athletic Conference.
• Chloe Figgins (35:24.18) finished ninth overall and shaved almost 10-full seconds off her lifetime best in the women's 10,000 meters to take down the program record by over two seconds. Her time put her at No. 5 in the AAC this season.
• In the women's pole vault, Arina Razina jumped her way to first place with a clearance of 3.80 meters. Joycelyn Crum hit a huge personal best as well to finish runner up with a clearance of 3.80m. This puts both women in a five-way tie for sixth place in the AAC.
• Sascha Salesius Schmidt's shot put throw of 18.24 meters makes him No.1 in the AAC and No. 37 in the NCAA for the time being.
• In the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, Liam Walsh ran sub-9:00 for the first time in his career to finish runner up in 8:58.21. His time ranks No. 2 in the AAC this season.
• Adam Yakobi ran a huge season-best of 53.37 in the men's 400-meter hurdles. He finished 27th overall in the first round. That time moved him to No. 6 in the AAC.
• Women's 100-meter runner Kyndia Matlock finished 21st overall in the first round and ran a season-best time of 11.74 (+4.1 m/s). That time clocked her at No.10 in the AAC.
