Tigers Fall 3-0 at Home to Central Arkansas

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis men's soccer played its fourth-straight home match Sunday night, falling 3-0 to Central Arkansas at the Billy J. Murphy Track & Soccer Complex.
The loss drops the Tigers to 1-3 on the year, while the Bears improve to 2-1.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central Arkansas took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute when Tajio James found Pietro Fontana in stride from 10 yards out.
- Memphis nearly found the equalizer late in the half after the offense settled in.
- Giorgos Kondylis sent a shot in off a corner, but it sailed just over the crossbar before a header from Lucho Galizzi got snatched from the keeper as the Tigers went into the break down, 1-0.
- Memphis came out of the break on the attack and was awarded a free kick just three minutes into the action. Gabriel Christensen lasered a shot over the wall that looked to get under the crossbar, but UCA's keeper got a hand on it and pushed it over.
- A few seconds later, Christensen made a run through the defense and ripped a shot at the goal, but once again, it was scooped up.
- The Bears doubled their lead in the 74th minute when Fontana headed a ball that ricocheted off the keeper and into the net.
- Central Arkansas added their final goal of the night in the 80th minute.

- The Tigers outshot the Bears, 14-12, and put seven on target.
- Logan Longo and Adam Yousfi led the team with three shots apiece.
- Keeper Filip Sabatti recorded five saves in the defeat.
