Wang Named American Conference Player of the Month

IRVING, Texas – University of Memphis men's golf athlete Yixiang Wang has been named the American Conference October Player of the Month, the conference announced Wednesday.
Wang, a junior out of Dalian, China, has been a staple for the Tigers during the fall season. Most recently, Wang claimed the individual champion spot at the Steelwood Collegiate where he finished seven under par in the shortened tournament.
Prior to the win at South Alabama, Wang helped Memphis to a team title at the Quail Valley Collegiate where he tied his career best three-round score at 203. He also shot a career-best 63 in the opening round of the tournament in route to a share of second place in individual play.
Wang also finished tied for fourth (138) at the Cullan Brown Invitational, tied for 14th (212) at the Bearcat Invitational and tied for third (204) in the team's season-opening tournament, the Argent Financial Classic.
