MEMPHIS, Tenn. The University of Memphis women's tennis team went down to the wire with Rice Friday night in a nail-biting match. While Memphis had the momentum heading into singles competition, the Owls came out on top with the 4-3 win.

After Alyssa Richter/Sofia Mykhailets and Emily Meyer/Leonie Moeller collected wins in doubles to take an early lead in the match, Rice took four of the six singles competitions, including a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 tie-breaking win on court six.

Moeller and Alice Amendola collected the singles wins on courts one and five, respectively.

UP NEXT:
The Tigers are back on the court Friday, March 28 when they travel down to New Orleans to take on Tulane.
