IRVING, Texas – Former Memphis men's soccer standout Logan Longo was named as a winner of one of the 2024-25 American Conference Commissioner's Postgraduate Leadership Awards by the conference's Academic Committee, per a league release. Longo was also tabbed as the American Conference men's soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
The Commissioner's Postgraduate Leadership Award is given annually to one male and one female student-athlete from an American-sponsored sport who have been admitted to a degree-granting or professional program the following year and who have demonstrated leadership through excellence in academic credentials, athletic performance and depth of commitment to service within the institution or the community.
Longo becomes the sixth Memphis student-athlete to earn the prestigious award. He also was named a recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship in the fall of 2024 and the Zach Curlin Award, the highest honor for a male student-athlete at Memphis.
Additionally, Longo was named the 2024-25 American Conference men's soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He was the lone representative from the University of Memphis named to the list of 22 honorees from 20 sports sponsored by the American, along with two at-large bids given to one male and one female student-athlete.
During the 2024 season, Longo helped Memphis to an American Conference regular season championship, earning a spot on the American All-Conference second team. From his defensive position, he contributed four goals and three assists. He was also one of only three Tigers to start every match and was the only member of the team to play in every single minute during the 17-match season.
