HOW IT HAPPENED
In the opening set, Memphis and UAB traded 3-0 runs before a three-point burst gave the Tigers a 10-8 advantage. A service error by the Blazers sparked a 4-0 run for Memphis to push the lead to 18-13 behind back-to-back kills from Dawn Moore. UAB responded late with a 4-0 run to trim the lead to 22-20, but late kills from Moore and Caitlyn Little secured a 25-22 set win for Memphis.

The teams traded points to open the second set before an Arianna Mongare kill sparked an 8-0 Memphis run for a 14-7 lead. Little, Sydney Marshall and Mongare all recorded kills during the stretch. UAB answered with a 4-0 run to cut the deficit to 14-11 and continued to chip away. Despite a late Little kill that tied the set at 23, UAB closed on a 4-2 run to take the set, 27-25.

UAB carried that momentum into the third set, opening with a 4-0 run on kills from Sydney Austin, Mia Reese and Makayla Meister. Memphis responded with a 4-0 run of its own to tie the set at 7-7, but a service error sparked another 4-0 Blazer surge to give UAB an 11-7 lead. UAB later extended the margin to 17-9. Kills from Little and a Meister attack error cut the UAB lead to four, but the Blazers closed out the set on a 4-0 run to win, 25-17.

The Blazers controlled the fourth set early, jumping out to a 7-2 lead before Amanda Hardt recorded a kill for Memphis. UAB extended its lead to 19-9 following a 5-0 run capped by a Reese kill.
