Tigers Open Spring at Hal Williams Collegiate

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis men's golf team kicks off its spring season Monday at the Hal Williams Collegiate, hosted by South Alabama.

The two-day tournament will be held at Magnolia Grove Golf Club located in Mobile, Alabama on a par-72 track that spans 7,129 yards and will host 14 total teams. The 54-hole event will include 36 holes of stroke play that begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday, followed by another 18 on Tuesday.

The 14-team field includes Memphis, No. 13 Illinois, No. 53 Rice, No. 57 South Alabama, Kent State, Southern Miss, Texas State, Louisiana Tech, Nebraska, UAB, Davidson, Abilene Christian, Eastern Michigan and Southern Illinois.

Memphis closed out its fall campaign in late October with a 4^th-place finish in the Steelwood Collegiate, finishing -2, 574. Yixiang Wang led the way with his first-ever individual title, shooting 7-under, 137 (66, 71). The Tigers defeated No. 23 Wake Forest and No. 33 Purdue in the match.
