Tigers' Midweek Game vs. North Alabama Canceled Due to Inclement Weather
Mar 09, 2026 | Softball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team will no longer play its midweek nonconference matchup against North Alabama on March 11, due to inclement weather expected in the area.
It marks the fourth game this season that Memphis has not played due to weather or a no contest. There are no plans to make up this game at a future date.
Memphis (7-16) will look to rebound from a rough first weekend of conference play by going on the road to UTSA (14-11).
The Tigers are led at the plate by Ariel Davis (.368 avg), who holds team-bests in hits (25), runs (17), triples (two), home runs (five), RBI (12) and OPS (1.182). Faith Brown (.333 avg), Mya Clark (.316 avg) and Zereniti Sousa (.265 avg) also sit in double figures in RBI with Davis.
The Roadrunners, who will play Texas A&M-Corpus Christi before hosting Memphis, swept Tulsa in their first series of American Conference play. The weekend performance led to Makayla Madrid being named the American Conference Player of the Week. The Texas Tech transfer hit just under .500 on the week, with a grand slam against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and had three doubles and two RBI against the Golden Hurricane.
