Memphis Volleyball Announces 2026 Schedule
Jun 04, 2026 | Women's Volleyball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis volleyball head coach Cheri Lindsay has released the program's 2026 schedule, Thursday morning.
""I think we did a really good job of scheduling our athletes for American Conference Play," said Lindsay. "They will get an opportunity to place some Power 4 schools as well as some other really talented mid majors in the non-conference that I feel will help them to prepare for conference."
The 27-match schedule features 14 games inside Elma Roane Fieldhouse, including the Rumble at the Roane and Carrie Yerty Classic invitationals in the third and fourth weeks of the season.
Before the regular season begins, fans will have two chances to get a look at the 2026 roster during two home exhibitions against Harding on Aug. 15 and Tennessee State on Aug. 22.
Memphis opens the regular season on the road in Nashville from Aug. 28-30. During the opening weekend, the Tigers will face Lipscomb and The College of Charleston inside Allen Arena, with a Saturday showdown against Vanderbilt slated for Aug. 29 inside Memorial Gymnasium. The road swing continues into early September with a trip to Lafayette, La., for the Sawyer Camillo Tournament, featuring matches against Southeastern Louisiana and host Louisiana on Sept. 4-5.
Memphis launches its home slate inside the Elma Roane Fieldhouse with a six-match homestand, highlighted by two consecutive tournaments. The Carrie Yerty Classic runs Sept. 10-12 and brings Alcorn State, Boston College and Mississippi State to Elma Roane Fieldhouse. Action resumes quickly with the Rumble at the Roane, which begins Sept. 15 against Ole Miss and concludes with matchups against Southern Mississippi and Little Rock on Sept. 17-19.
American Conference play will start on Sept. 25 with a road contest to Wichita State, before heading to Tulsa on Sept. 27. The Tigers return home to host UAB and Tulane on Sept. 30 and Oct. 2, respectively, before heading back out for a rematch against UAB on Oct. 9 and a visit to Rice on Oct. 11.
The mid-October slate sees Temple and East Carolina visit Memphis on Oct. 16 and 18. The Tigers then head to the Sunshine State to take on Florida Atlantic and South Florida on Oct. 23 and 25. The month concludes at home against UTSA on Oct. 30 and Charlotte on Nov. 1.
In the final stretch of the season, Memphis travels to face Tulane on Nov. 6 before returning home for a match against North Texas on Nov. 8. The Tigers host reigning conference champion Tulsa for the home finale on Nov. 13, and the regular season concludes at UTSA on Nov. 15.
The 2026 American Volleyball Championships will be hosted by Rice in Houston, Texas. The top eight teams throughout the conference play will qualify, with the first round will take place on Nov. 20. The semifinals wil be played on Nov. 21 with the final set for Nov. 23.
