Tigers Place 10th at Mountaineer Intercollegiate

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - The Memphis Tigers closed play at the second annual Mountaineer Intercollegiate hosted by the University of West Virginia with a 10th place finish, shooting rounds of 303, 290, and 302 for the tournament.
The teams started the Tuesday by completing what was left after a darkness-shortened first day, in addition to the regularly-scheduled third round. Memphis' 895 tied with Seton Hall, and was ahead of Toledo, Arkansas State, and Marshall.
Sydney Chung, closed the partially played second round with a two-under 70 on the par-72, 7,308-yard Pete Dye Course. His final-round 74 have him a three-round 220, which tied for 23rd in the field.
Kevin Lee also finished below par in the remainder of the second round with a 71, before closing the tournament with a 79, tying for 39th overall with a three-round total of 225.
Chase Harris, who ended the first round with the team's top scores, carded a second-round 78, which was followed by a 76 over the final 18 holes, giving him a 226, tied for 45th overall.
JC Campbell followed up a rough opening round with a round of 74 in the shortened round and a 75 for the finale, giving him a 54-hole total of 230, which is tied for 56th in the field.
Freshman Nick Giles rebounded after his first round by shooting three strokes over par in the second round, while carding the team's fourth-best score in the final round with a 77. His three-round total of 232 saw him tie for 61st overall in the tournament.
The Tigers take two weeks off before returning to action on October 24 when the team takes to Vero Beach, Florida, to play in the Quail Valley Collegiate, hosted by McNeese State University.
