Tigers to Host Memphis Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis men's golf team opens play at its own 2016 Memphis Intercollegiate on Monday morning, when the program hosts 12 other teams at the Colonial Country Club. The Tigers will look to repeat from its championship a year ago, as Memphis has won four team championships in the 13 years of the tournament.

LAST WEEK
The Tigers placed ninth at the 2016 Franklin American Mortgage company Intercollegiate with a three-round score of 887. The team was led by JC Campbell who placed 24th in the field with a six-over 222, while Camden Backel carded a 223, good for 29th place at seven strokes over par. Sydney Chung tied for 35th with a 224, while Kevin Lee carded a 227, tying for 52nd overall.

TOURNAMENT HISTORY
This season will be the 13th time that the University has hosted the Memphis Intercollegiate, with the Tigers taking home the team title four times, including last season by three strokes. The individual round record was a 65 in the second round last season from Dawson Armstrong, who took home individual medalist honors last season, and is in the field for the Bison this season as well.
