Tigers open up conference play against the Bearcats Saturday
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis men's soccer team opens up American Athletic Conference play Saturday with a road trip to Cincinnati before taking on Northern Kentucky in a non-conference match Monday. Kick-off against Cincinnati is set for 6 p.m. and against Northern Kentucky at 5 p.m.
MATCH INFORMATION:
The Tigers are coming off of their first win of the season, a 2-1 victory over Missouri State, that improved them to 1-3-2 overall. Freshman Luke Biasi tied the match 1-1 in the 82nd minute with a shot outside the box. This was Biasi's first collegiate goal while sophomore Burke Fahling picked up the assist on the play. The game-winner came five minutes later via a header from redshirt-senior Charles Blankenship.
The goal was Blankenship's first of the season and his first goal as a Tiger. The defense held strong in the final minutes of regulation while Memphis claimed its first win of the 2017 season.
Memphis is under the direction of head coach Richard Mulrooney who is in his fourth season at the helm of the Tiger program.
A Look at the Bearcats
