Tigers Post Five Top-100 Finishes at Crimson Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Memphis cross country team was back in action on Friday morning, running at the Crimson Cross Country Classic at the Harry Pritchett Running Course in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The teams combined for five individual top-100 finishes, as the men's team finished 19^th in the 8,000-meter race and the women's team finished 18^th its first 6,000-meter race of the season.

Leading the way once again was Chloe Figgins for the women, finishing 82^nd overall (21:44.9) in a field of 228 runners. Figgins has paced the women in all four races this season. For the men, Robert Randall (25:39.7) led the way, with teammate Sammy Mohamed (25:41.1) not far behind, finishing 97^th and 100^th, respectively, in the 218-man field.

"I thought Sammy [Mohamed] had a great race and Robert [Randall] raced well," cross country coach Ken Frenette said. "On the women's side, Jalyssa [Smith] and Chablis [Shreffler] both turned in solid races."

On the men's side, Alex Bobak (161^st, 26:48.6), Liam Walsh (170^th, 27:09.1) and Vincent Chenier (176^th, 27:17.7) rounded out the top-five finishers for the Tigers.

Completing the top-five on the women's side behind Figgins were Jalyssa Smith (94^th, 21:53.0), Chablis Shreffler (99^th, 21:57.5), Ann Marie Braese (119^th, 22:15.7) and Ashleigh Anderson (136^th, 22:30.6).

Up next, the Tigers will compete at the American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships in Greenville, N.C., on October 28.
