Memphis Volleyball Opens Season with Tiger Brawl

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis volleyball kicks off the 2023 season on Friday hosting the Tiger Brawl, a two-day four-team tournament at the newly renovated Larry O. Finch Center.
The Tigers will open against Alcorn State and Samford on Friday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively before closing out the weekend with Miami (OH) on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. Live stats for every match will be available at wwww.memphisstats.com and all the Tigers' matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
Memphis returns key pieces from last year's team including Loren Roberston, Jasmyn Tate and Tabytha Toelke. Robertson led the Tigers with 1,181 assists along with Tate and Toelke in the top five for kills last season. Bailey Houlihan also returns for her fourth season with Memphis after three straight seasons leading in digs and being named to the AAC Preseason All-Conference Team.
New additions to this year's roster include transfers Reilly Briggs and Clara Bednarek. During her time with Northern Kentucky Briggs was named to the Horizon League All-League first team and led the Norse in kills last season.
