Tigers Head to Oxford for Tuesday Night Showdown
Nov 10, 2025 | Men's Basketball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers hit the road for the first time this season, traveling south to Oxford for a primetime matchup with longtime rival Ole Miss. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. CT Tuesday inside the SJB Pavilion, with television coverage on SEC Network.
The Tigers (1-0) opened the 2025-26 campaign Saturday with a 76-70 win over San Francisco at FedExForum, extending their streaks to 23 consecutive home-opening victories and eight straight season-opening wins under head coach Penny Hardaway.
Tuesday's contest marks the first of three regular-season games against Southeastern Conference opponents, with showdowns versus Vanderbilt (Dec. 17) and Mississippi State (Dec. 20) still to come. Including exhibitions, the Tigers will have faced three SEC foes in just over two weeks after preseason tilts with No. 14 Arkansas and No. 20 Auburn.
Memphis and Ole Miss renew a rivalry that dates back to the 1922-23 season. The Tigers lead the all-time series 30-16 and defeated the 16th-ranked Rebels, 87-70, last year in Memphis. However, Ole Miss has held serve at home, winning the last four meetings in Oxford.
A Memphis victory Tuesday would mark a 2-0 start for the third consecutive season and the program's fourth-straight road-opening win.
